General Use

Speckta-Clear functions as a high-gloss clear glaze with the added surprise of specks! With only one coat on a glazed background, or two coats on an unglazed, bare bisque background, Speckta-Clear provides a pleasing complement or contrast of shiny and colorful specks. Designed to be used at cone 06, this clear glazes can be used for all-over coverage or in design with Stroke & Coat®, Foundations, Fundamentals™ Underglazes, and other Mayco glazes. How is that for a creative spark?

Application Recommendations

The following application recommendations are based upon the original product development intent and use for the product.

• Functions as a high-gloss clear glaze with speckles 

• Stable & non-moving at low fire 

• Apply over base-coated ware or directly onto undecorated ware 

• Broad firing range: cones 06-6. Check “Special Notes” for cone 6 performance 

• Works well over chrome-tin pigments 

• Heavy application will develop a hazy finish 

• Use for all over coverage or in design with Stroke & Coat® , Foundations® , Underglazes, and other Mayco glazes.

• AP Non-Toxic, For Food Safe and Dinnerware Safe, when used according to manufacturer’s directions.

Label Directions

Functions as a high-gloss clear glaze. Shake well. Apply 1 even coat to base-coated ware or 2 even coats to cone 04 (1060 °C) undecorated ware. Allow to dry. Fire to cone 06/05 (999 °C – 1046 °C). May fire to higher temperatures; see “Cone 6 Results” for performance. Test first. Do not spray apply. Visit MaycoColors.com for safety data, SDS, and additional product information.
